Our latest venture took us to SXSW in Austin, Texas! It was a jam-packed week full of live music, talks and even networking with puppies. We were delighted to have the chance to watch a screening of Wes Anderson’s new stop-motion animation ‘Isle of Dogs’, followed by a Q&A with the director himself.
The film is set in a dystopian future Japan, where all dogs from the fictional city of Megasaki have been exiled to Trash Island following an outbreak of “dog flu”. The opening of an exhibition at The Store X presents the intricate sets and puppets that were used for the film, alongside a pop-up ramen bar, replicating the one from Megasaki.
Original scores by Alexandre Desplat, Kurosawa and The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band which all feature on the film, will soundtrack the exhibition. The Vinyl Factory will be releasing a 4-track EP sold exclusively at The Store X.
Take a sneak peek of the exhibition here.
